The sights are lined up here. Particularly striking is the Aachen Cathedral, which in 1978 was Germany's first monument to be entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Münsterplatz, Katschhof, Center Charlemagne and the town hall are the closest surroundings and core of the buffer zone set up to protect the cathedral.
