The Stein pumping station was built in 1883 on the Steinse Dijk near Haastrecht (then part of the municipality of Vlist, now Krimpenerwaard) to drain the Stein polder. Designed by L. Exalto, it was equipped with a steam engine and a centrifugal pump from the English manufacturer Gwynne. Natuurenlandschap. In 1949, the steam engine was replaced by a modern 88kW electric motor from Heemaf, which displaces 41m³ of water per minute. goudsvirtueelsluizenmuseum.
