The Bürser Gorge was formed by the interplay of water and ice after the retreat of the glaciers about 10,000 years ago. The Alvierbach stream created a spectacular, almost jungle-like landscape with moss-covered rocks and a rich flora.

The Ill rises in the middle of the Silvretta group and is fed entirely by glacier water. At this point it rushes over a wide gravel bed and flows into the turquoise-colored Silvretta reservoir.

The waterfall is definitely worth a detour. Whether directly from Brand for families, which is very pleasant to walk, or from Melkboden, which does require a certain amount of sure-footedness and fitness.

Leisurely walk from the Gortipohl church to the Balbier waterfall. The Balbier waterfall is about 17 meters high. There is a small, cozy playground with a barbecue area nearby.

The Kesselfall waterfall near Brand is a beautiful, thunderous waterfall that plunges through a 40-meter-deep gorge of the Alviersbach stream. It's particularly impressive after heavy rainfall.
