Der Verkehrsverbund Großraum Nürnberg (VGN) ist mit 15.800 Quadratkilometern der zweitgrößte Verkehrsverbund Deutschlands. Elf namhafte Tourismusregionen liegen in dem Gebiet zwischen Lichtenfels im Norden und Solnhofen im Süden, zwischen Rothenburg o.d.T. im Westen und Amberg im Osten. Rund 780 Bus- und Bahnlinien, über 9.000 Haltestellen, mehr als 13.000 Kilometer Streckenlänge erschließen die schönsten Seiten der Region. Rund 300 Ausflugstipps für Wanderer, Radfahrer und Städtetouristen gibt es unter vgn.de/freizeit.
