Hike with the HWGV Kassel. By bus to Escherode. From there on great forest paths to Ziegenhagen. Lunch break in Ziegenhagen. With good hiking weather, the 4th stage starts in Rothwesten. The hike to Wahnhausen (lock) is uneventful, following field paths. Walking through an avenue of oak trees, you'll find a wrought-iron gate on the left, and behind it, a large cross.

Today we finished off with another spectacular tour.

First, we ascended along a farm/forestry track to the Steinalm. We took a short break in the quaint little hut before tackling the black via ferrata to the Peter Wiechenthaler Hut.

For us flatland Tyroleans, this climb was quite a challenge.

Today we set off on foot from the hotel without any aids.

Below the Hochmaisbahn cable car, we climbed over alpine meadows and forest paths, gaining over 600 meters of elevation, via the Hochmaisalm (currently closed) up to the mountain station and the Steinbockalm.
