This week I was inspired for this wonderful tour by Andrea Herpich's contribution and photos (many thanks to Andrea 🤗) - it was just fantastic!
I was overwhelmed by these huge sand dunes - and that in the middle of FRANKEN!
Sometimes you got the real beach feeling when you walk barefoot through the sand! 🏖️
The beautiful heathland will soon be in bloom, but these huge sandy areas alone are worth a visit at any time! 👍⛱️🙃

Trees have always had a special symbolism. They stand among other things. for development and growth, for strength, but also for harmony and for eternal life.
The linden tree was viewed by the Celts as the tree of truth. Not least because of their heart-shaped leaves and sweet-smelling flowers.
The linden tree has always "protected" the life and love of the Celts, which is why it was also regarded as the "tree of peace".
The 200 year old linden wreath around the St. Vitus Chapel on Veitsberg (next to Staffelberg) is the oldest closed linden wreath in Europe.
The linden tree was considered a sacred place for the Teutons and Slavs. In later times, many places in Central Europe had a village linden tree with a place where people met to exchange news or to dance and were held at the court. The linden tree thus became a symbol of home, community, hospitality and justice.
Today's linden tour is certainly even more interesting during the flowering period in June / July!
