Prestatyn to Llandudno and up the Great Orme
Took the train to Prestatyn and cycled up to Talacre for breakfast from Clwyd bakery then down the coast to Llandudno, went up the Great Orme and had a look at the Bronze age copper mines. Particularly liked the statue of Terry Jones at Colwyn Bay.

Blackpool, Fleetwood ferry, Pilling sands and Fairhaven lake
Raining when I set off to the station but blue skies all the way when I got to Blackpool. Fleetwood ferry was running so I hopped on board and had a look around Knot End and Pilling sands.

High Peak and Tissington trails calling at Carsington Water
Starting from Parsley Hay Station up to Middleton Top, across to Carsington Water for lunch then over to Tissington to pick up the trail back to the start point

Interesting museum of aircraft with local connections and variety of cars, bicycles and memorabilia

Rochdale canal, Pennine Bridleway and Huddersfield canal calling at Castleshaw Roman Fort
Some steep ascents and descents but worth it for the views although the Roman Fort is a little underwhelming

Train to Chester and ride round the Wirral with trip on the Mersey ferry
Millennium greenway from Chester and across Burton Marsh to Parkgate then up the Wirral way to West Kirkby, sign posts for the Wirral circular route disappear quickly meaning I missed Hoylake and arrived at Meols but cycled through New Brighton for the ferry across to Liverpool

Lancaster to Cockerham sands, Glasson Dock, Morecambe and back to the Station
Ride along the Lancaster canal to Cockerham sands and Glasson Dock, (calling at All Saints Church Glasson to refill water bottles) then on to Morecambe along the old railway routes

Todd Brook Reservoir, Bugsworth Basin, Roman Bridge and Lakes
Nice ride along the Peak Forest Canal to see the repair work at Todd Brook Reservoir. Barge doing tea coffee and hot sandwiches moored at Whaley. Sadly the Tea rooms at Roman Lakes is no longer open except for private functions.

Wigan to home on the canal calling at Pennington Flash
Easy ride down the Leigh branch of the Leeds Liverpool canal which becomes the Bridgewater canal at Leigh,lovely views of the Flashes coming out of Wigan also last remaining pit head gear(on the Lancashire coal field) at Lancashire mining museum and Barton swing aqueduct.

The Bay cycle way,Grange over sands to Lancaster calling at Arnside, Silverdale and Morecambe.
Mostly off road or quiet lanes through some lovely countryside with great views. 10 miles of this trip is to and from the station.
