Pedalling along the canal minding my own business en route to Hebden Bridge when an escapee from the Tour de France came round a blind bend at top speed, panicked locked his rear wheel and broadsided into me taking my bike from under me dumping me heavily onto the tow path. Many thanks to the CRT volunteers who came to the rescue and provided a hug in a mug (tea is the great panacea) and an offer of first aid. Happily the guy who hit me came off worst and couldn't get away quick enough licking his wounds.
