Streifzug durch Rhöndorf
Konrad Adenauer, der 1. Bundeskanzler der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, lebte ab 1935 in Rhöndorf am Rhein. Er starb dort 1967 und ist auf dem dortigen Waldfriedhof bestattet. Unterhalb seines Wohnhauses gibt es inzwischen ein Museum, das ich noch nicht kannte. Der Eintritt ist frei.

Grevenbroich - Erft - Vollrather Höhe
Wie die Sophienhöhe und die Glessener Höhe ist auch die Vollrather Höhe eine riesige Abraumhalde und Hinterlassenschaft des Braunkohletagebaus. Die Rundwanderung führt durch die Innenstadt Grevenbroichs und entlang der Erft und schwenkt dann hinauf auf die Vollrather Höhe.

Because I unfortunately went the tour clockwise, there was a very long gradual ascent up to the highest point and a rather short steep descent. Going counter-clockwise would probably have been more practical from a hiking perspective.
