From Sarlhusen it went over the Glasberg with 64 HM. The path is difficult or even nonexistent. In the undergrowth a couple gathered chestnuts for dinner, but there weren't many.
Following the nature park path (NPW) (KOMOOT) I followed the Reese fish farm. A beautiful piece of earth, but the passage is private and is not allowed or tolerated. A lot is done there for anglers, really great. So go back and follow the signs. On narrow paths along the Bünzau, through the old beech forest back to Bünzau. A heather area has been newly created, rustic bridges are crossed. Great egrets and gray herons wait for prey. The glider airfield remains on the left, via the B430 to the old water mill. A few steps further to the Olen Hus, a museum and weekend cafe with waffles and cherry sauce. Highly recommended, and now also barrier-free.
Through the Bünzen district, past the sports field, the excavations of the former castle are marked on the right.
Through the witch forest at the almost empty fishing pond with many herons waiting for food back to the train station.
A great hike in the most beautiful sunshine. We recommend!

Again beautiful summer weather and new paths to the destination in Breiholz. On wonderful bike paths, in Brinjahe you could have bypassed Itzehoer Chausee (shortly before right) further and
past the bizarre Masurenhof to the meeting point for cyclists and bikers. A good strengthening for the way back. And then it went on along the Kiel Canal, through meadows and fields, through the Barloher Forest with its very beautiful forest and great rest areas. Through Tappendorf with its small hills to Rade and through meadows with a distant view of the ERNA cattle (extensive cattle husbandry in the Aukrug nature park)
      Recommended bike tour!

Tried the apple grain and coffe cream at Berentzen in Haselünne and found it delicious. But our saddlebags are too heavy to be able to transport bottles.
Today we went along the Hase to the train to Meppen. A nice route, at the end a mountain bike tour. Otherwise, the cycle path leads along fruit tree avenues, without inclines, past beautiful farmhouses, through small villages along the winding Hase.
Conclusion of the week: a relaxed bike tour, good bike paths, no inclines, daily highlights, lots of meadows, fields and forests, frequent connections to the DB, plenty of accommodation, good food and excellent weather !!!

From the beautiful AFRICA SKY HOTEL in Werlte we went to Sögel. Several horses in the pastures, windmills in the mist of the morning, paddocks with maize through meadows, fields and forests, the Theikenmeer.
In Sögel the beautiful Emslandmiseum Castle Clemenswerth. The top dog determines the event ...
Very interesting and worth seeing. Well-tended grounds, old trees, star-shaped baroque grounds - this is how Elector Clemens August had it built as a hunting lodge. Great!!
You can also see many large stone graves. On the cycle route of the megalithic culture, you can see 30 large stone graves in the moraine landscape of the Hümmling.
Then to the Hüvener mill. Unfortunately closed, but still very nice to look at.
From there on to the old Hanseatic town of Haselünne.
The Rosche and Berentzen grain distilleries invite you to taste and buy ... it worked.
It was another beautiful day with sunshine and little wind!

We had to catch up with Meyer Werft right from the start. .... Took a shortcut yesterday, but the shipyard was a must for me!
At the moment there are no tours due to Corona, but also very impressive from the outside and at a distance!
Because a bridge was closed, we had to take the same route back to Papenburg. Driven another dangling through the beautiful city park.
Always by the oldest and longest fehn, these are the canals. Great old sailing ships are at anchor, very idyllic!
After a long journey along the canals, we came to the Hümmling nature park.
There is a memorial in Esterwegen. Concentration and prison camps. Makes you very thoughtful again ... What people are capable of !!!
From there we went on to Werlte in perfect weather. And saw another very beautiful mill.
And there was also a nice quarter. African Sky Hotel. With the summer temperatures it can't in South Africa either

From Meppen we went to Papenburg today in the best weather.
We started at the Dortmund-Ems Canal. We reach Haren in a beautiful forest, on good bike paths, always along the water, with many, very nice opportunities to take a break. There are a few beauties, and some ships can also be seen.
Around the Europahafen, back on the bike path. Past the old ferry station to the Emsland Cathedral in Haren. Very nice!!!
Soon thereafter there is a mill museum, unfortunately closed.
On beautiful bike paths, via a stud farm, riding stables, to Lathen.
Short visit to Gut Altenkamp in Aschendorf and Papenburg at 30 ° C
reached. A great, impressive day !!!

Today we went from Lingen to Veenland and then to Meppen.
      What can I say🤔
Always the wind from the front, only dead straight stretches, partly on district roads, although there are other bike paths. The sun just didn't want to show itself .... Greetings from the USA ... through the devastating forest fires ....
Very beautiful the Dutch Veenland !!! A new cycle path is currently being built, the migratory birds have probably already gone, but cranes, geese and ducks can be seen.
Through meadows and fields, past many beautiful resting places (frequent smell of pig fattening) to Meppen.
Let's see what awaits us tomorrow🌞😊

We're on tour again. Now it's the Emsland route. Almost 400 kilometers. We have already made 1/10 today.
We took the DB with 4 changes to Rheine. Actually ... everything went well ... in HH there was only that
Elevator broken ... carry bikes and luggage. Reached the train🚞🚞
From Bremen via Osnabrück to Rheine. Good connection, good cycling compartments, no delay
Rheine, a small, clean town on the Ems, church open, on to Bentlage monastery, also open!
Over the salt mountains with the saline God's gift,
Continue to Enking's Mühle. Ate delicious pumpernickel cake there. Delicious!!
Then quickly continue. Past the swing golf course to the Gleesen lock. The Dortmund-Ems Canal is crossed, the nuclear power plant remains on the right, along the Ems to Lingen. The old country house houses us tonight. The best ate and drank, extremely nice staff. Highly recommended 🤩🤩

First to the mill pond in Hohenlockstedt. I fondly remember the many triathlons I did there.
Around the pond (with lots of fish), through woods and fields to the Rantzau, a beautiful renatured river. Further through beautiful forest, over fields, eagles circling in the air, back to Hohenlockstedt. Through the residential area, to the car.

Actually, I wanted to go back to the can moor quickly while the heather was still in bloom. At first on adventurous ways it went via Timmaspe, then to Einfeld. The storm could already be seen at the lake. ...
But the can moor is calling.
It's good that there is a railway underpass ... we can shelter there for a long time. Very short detour into the moor ... and rain again ... after Einfeld and coffee at EDEKA. Then in the sunshine, as if nothing had happened, via Loop (there is also a small cafe there)
      It was fun anyway 😄😄
