Der Almsee ist ein Bergsee im oberösterreichischen Salzkammergut und befindet sich im Gemeindegebiet von Grünau im Almtal ca. 11 km südlich von Grünau. Er erstreckt sich auf eine Länge von ca. 2,5 km. Am Südende (Talschluss) befindet sich ein großer PP und das GH Seehaus, geöffnet von April – Ende Oktober. Von hier können Bergtouren auf die Gipfel der Almtaler Sonnenuhr, Überschreitung Totes Gebirge und kleinere Wanderungen (z.B. auf den Ameisstein) unternommen werden. Eine Seeumrundung ist zu jeder Jahreszeit ein Genuss, besonders im Herbst.
