Walk from Tansley Garden Centre circular route but no throughway
Great views over Riber Castle and Derbyshire dales and map shows circular pathway BUT there was an old stile ( pic 23) but covered both ends with considerable brambles and currently impassable, parts of the route fenced off so can’t go intended way whether this is just an old pathway on the map 🤷♀️Lovely Spring day but still very muddy in parts particularly when you fall over 🤣

Last good bye to Hergest for Feb half term
Received an absolute battering from the wind and rain today😖🌧️. Had planned to walk from Gladestry this time, but still had to do a circular for car and so decided to go usual route from Hergest to see the ponies for the last time as they’re usually up this end. Not a pony in sight 🤦♀️just sheep- 🐑 And getting pushed back to the extent I could lean into the wind and not fall over today 😖 Kept going until I couldn’t then took the nudge to turn around with the wind on my back lamenting that I hadn’t been able to say goodbye to the ponies. Then patches of blue sky, sunshine and there they were on the left on the way back as a rainbow 🌈 appeared encompassing the surrounding hills.

Church Stretton after the snow
Some hills were green, some were white - wish I was a ‘real’ hiker that went up top those Shropshire hills but happy having a bimble walk and seeing them in the distance 🤣

Walk around Montgomery town and castle ruins
Montgomery is well worth a look around and the castle ruins are definitely worth a visit. Stop off at the Ivy cafe (also post office) for good teas, coffees and avocado 🥑 toast

Back to Hergest Ridge
5 months since I came here. Bay horse is still here and well, albeit it in her fluffy, Winter coat compared to her sleek, Summer but all the ponies look well. 🐴Only an hour or do walk because of phone charge and then went to lunch at Border Bean 🫘

Clun Heritage Trail
Went round one twiddly bit twice - hard to navigate in pouring rain but steeped in history and a lovely cafe stop at the end for hot, cream of cauliflower soup and a homemade cheese scone at the Maltings Cafe. Plus, obviously there are snowdrops everywhere at this time of year, but in Shropshire they are literally EVERYWHERE!

@Claire Its almost a guarantee that we will fall or stumble when out on a hike/walk at some point🫤 hopefully it was one you could laugh at😆 I take a foldable saw out with me if I come across a overgrown stile or path but that stile would have needed a chainsaw🫤
