Parked in the Speedwell Cavern Car Park (£14 for over 6 hours) and headed back up the road on the footpath to the farm on the right..went through the gate and crossed over the fields down to the Cavern entrance, then up theMam Tor road for a short while before turning off onto the muddy track that leads to the steps up to Mam Tor. A steady climb but challenging in high winds. Beautiful views at the top on a good day and a trig to bag. Then heading back down steps and follow path into the woodland. Go through the car park to the main road and turn left. Follow road a short while before turning right onto stone track. Flollow this stone track for a couole of miles until you see the sign post for Castleton. Turn left down the path and follow along the Limestone Way all the way into Castleton. There is a stoney valley to steadily walk down past Peveril Castle up above you. Once in Castleton there are several oubs to choose from. We chose the George. Lovely quaint pub with very efficient staff who served us promptly. Aftwards we headed back out of Castleton and up to the Speedwell Cavern Car Park.
