Another fairly long, hard, day of walking. I'm not going to lie, these last 2 days haven't been easy, especially when Phil picks up the pace and my little legs and slightly arthritic hip have to try to keep up. However, we've kept going and have made it to our albergue for the night.
This was another "quieter" option, and we thought we had it to ourselves again until a Portuguese couple turned up. Even Phil standing there in his pants with a towel around his neck (about to hit the shower) didn't put them off, so it looks like we have some albergue buddies tonight.
I'm learning that a Camino day is never boring. We were gifted some coffee (laced with some undisclosed and unidentified alcohol) at an impromptu rest stop, and nearly gained a horse as a travel companion a bit further on. I thought for a moment he was going to follow us, but seemed to think better of it (wise move), and instead headed off up the hill. Then there was a car rally in the middle of Betanzos, really wasn't expecting that!
Looking forward to a good meal tonight, and a shorter day tomorrow!
