Das Grutholz (zusammen mit dem Nierholz) ist ein rund 116 Hektar großes Wald- und Naherholungsgebiet in Castrop-Rauxel, das vom Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) gepflegt wird. Inmitten dieser grünen Oase befindet sich das gleichnamige Wildgehege. Das ca. 4 Hektar große, ehrenamtlich geführte Gehege entstand im Jahr 1969 im Zuge des Baus der Siedlung Deininghausen. Hier leben Dam- und Sikahirsche (darunter seltene weiße Hirsche) sowie Pfauen. Der Eintritt ist kostenfrei und das Gelände rund um die Uhr zugänglich.
