A drizzly start along the excellent rail trail from Keswick, before turning off onto a nice quiet B road. The first off-road segment was a single track with a very steep pinch and overgrown bracken that made me soggy. The next was a forestry road that climbed above lake for great views. A nice quiet lane brought me back around the lake, crossing a dam and back onto tarmac for a spell. Turning off onto a bridleway through farmland was the highlight of the ride as the sun peeked through. Back into town now busy for a coffee and pastry.
