View of the Kranzberg

Highlight • Other

The Hohe Kranzberg is with a height of 1397 m a small mountain in the west Mittenwalds. It is bounded on the east by Mittenwald, in the west by the Elmau, in the north by the Schmalensee and the Buckelwiesen and in the south by Lautersee and Ferchensee. The height of 1391 m, which is often read and recorded in many maps, refers to a point on the Kranzberg summit hut, which has been accessed by means of paths; about 300 meters to the west of this there is a high altitude point with a height of 1397 m, which can only be accessed without a lane, according to the official topographical map. The mountain is accessed by many hiking trails. Starting points for hikes are usually the 980 m high parking lot of the chairlift and the Elmau. The chairlift, built by Pohlig in 1950, is one of 1450 m long and extends for one person to the mountain inn St. Anton (1200 m), from where the Kranzberg summit lift used to lead to the summit region.

Leutasch Ghost Gorge

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

This new way is completely built as a secured lattice way in the upper area of the Leutaschklamm. Several stations offer special experiences such as horns, a wind chime, a mirror, with which one can generate light reflections in the gorge, a gong as well as panels with explanations of the gorge and its history. Also a hidden gorge spirit can be discovered there.

The path through the gorge is good to go, but you should be free from giddiness.

The gorge is great. Even for untrained people quite feasible and a nice experience. The course of the state border has a more symbolic effect here for visitors and does not prevent anyone from doing anything.
