A nice walk with excellent catering at the beginning and end.

Today we went on one of the "Grafschafter Spurensuche" hiking trails around the beautiful village of Lage. The place has almost 1000 inhabitants, but despite its manageable size, it has a unique history. Since it was simply forgotten during the territorial reorganization after the end of the 30 Years War, Lage had the special status of "glory" for a long time. Until 1803, Lage was an independent small state with its own jurisdiction. Hence the title of the tour: "On the trail of a former glory." There were beautiful stretches of path along the Dinkel and through the towns with historical buildings. The watermill in Lage is also beautiful. Unfortunately, the tour was also quite asphalt-heavy, but this is simply due to the agricultural geographical location. You can start the tour from several places, we started from the cemetery parking lot in Lage. Now, for the first time, paw care is the order of the day again: Today I literally had enough wonderful tracks in my nose. See you soon, your Bruno 🐾🐾 https://www.grafschaft-bentheim-tourismus.de/radfahren-und-wandern/wandern/spurensuche
From Lage we went to Neuenhaus. And because the weather was so nice, we also went through Neuenhaus a bit. The sun was really good 🌞🥾🍀
