The small and large Jasmund Bodden are part of the waters of northern Rügen. The Bodden water is hardly salty and is considered a true angler's paradise.

September 5, 2024,Jasmunder Bodden – Jasmunder Bodden bei Lietzow Runde von Serams
This tour was suggested by Komoot. Since I was under time pressure, I did not deviate from it. Unfortunately, the town center of Binz is missing.
At first we went along the main road. There seem to be concrete plans to build a cycle path. One seems to have been drawn up. Halfway(?) to Bergen, a cycle path leads to …

There is a difficult section of the route near Mukran, but otherwise it is a fairly good cycling route with many good cycle paths.

Showing Translation

This part of Rügen is a bit hilly. The official cycle paths mostly follow the main roads, but are separated and in very good condition. Unfortunately, there are no bike lanes on some streets, which is very uncomfortable with the heavy traffic. Hence the excursion over dirt roads at the end of the journey.

Showing Translation

A large part of the tour leads along busy main roads,
about five kilometers even directly on the road.
Although there is a bike path, it was
this section is constantly associated with road noise.
This fact is not a recommendation for a nice bike tour! The last 10 km around Prora were the best!

Today circled the small Jasmunder Bodden. Made a stop in Binz, explored the pier, then cycled along the Prora to the sand sculpture exhibition. Continue to the largest DJH in Germany, at the end of the Prora and then head home. Another beautiful day. 🙂🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Showing Translation

In Prora, the sand sculpture exhibition is very interesting, but with €12.50 admission it's not a bargain either... A stop in Ralswiek is definitely recommended - a beautiful place at the harbor.
Visiting Bergen is not worth it.
Not recommended is the drive on the B196 towards the end. No bike path, no shoulder. Pretty corrosive and also not harmless. …

I learned from friends that the new bike path from Bergen to Binz, via Karow and Lubkow, is supposed to be finished.
Well, almost.
Up to Lubkow, it's already paved all the way, although some of the sealing work is still underway.
Beyond Lubkow, there are still construction machines, suggesting that it's not finished yet.
Taking the last exit and …

The weather didn't look so good this morning 🌧️🌧️🙃. But then the sun came out ☀️ and I took advantage of it for a bike ride 🤣.

Today around the Kleiner Jasmunder Bodden 🚴 was very beautiful, and there's a new bike path 👍 from Zirkow to Serams, but it's not quite finished yet. Unfortunately, there won't be any cycling …
