Rest area at the Dreiländereck (Three-Country Corner)

Highlight • Rest Area

Nicely designed rest area. Just do not know what it is about the tri-border region. I met a nudist hiking group here today.

Hockköpfel rock formation

Highlight • Natural Monument

Fantastic viewpoints over the largest contiguous forest area in Germany attract hikers and reward them for tours that require a certain level of fitness. The sandstone rocks are between 450 and 470 million years old.

Who wants to venture out to the summit cross must be absolutely free from giddiness! Fantastic view so for example down to Schwanheim. Every few meters a lizard ran around - but they do not bite ;-)

Small refuge that is a bit off the tour. Nice view of the four castles (Ramburg, Neuscharfeneck, Trifels and Madenburg)!

Great vantage point with a view into the distance. You should have a head for heights to get to the top of the rock formation (crevice)!

A really nice hiking trail. It's great to walk here on a narrow hiking trail. It is less suitable for strollers etc.

The hike started off very gently and then led uphill past beautiful rock formations. There were also some flat sections along the way, which were really nice for the legs 😊.

A highly recommended route that was also not very busy on a sunny Sunday 👌.

An absolute highlight: finally hiking in the Palatinate Forest again. The highlight was the detour to the rocky plateau, marked as closed by Komoot. Understandable for those with a fear of heights. Therefore, only a little information. :P

Today I hiked the Dimbacher Buntsandstein-Höhenweg in mixed weather. In 2013, the trail was certified as a "premium hiking trail" and I think that's absolutely right.

The special thing about the hike is that you always move around the village of Dimbach on the mountain ranges of the surrounding mountain ridges. You hike almost continuously in the forest and always …

Before I drive home today, I had to take advantage of the nice weather and do a little farewell walk through the rocky landscape of the Palatinate. It was fantastic, wild and had great views on the small paths around Dimbach.

It has to be at least once a year. For me one of the most beautiful circular hiking trails, the wonderful Dimbacher Buntsandstein Höhenweg. "The path runs lively up and down, almost exclusively on narrow single trails". The many red sandstone rocks are awesome, the views unbelievable. On the Dimberg you can get up to many rocks in various places …

The anticipation of today's sunny day drove me out of bed very early. I got in the car at 7.30 a.m., drove to the starting point and started running around 8.30 a.m. 🥾🥾. On the way I received a call from my cousin asking if I was suffering from senile bed escape 😂
My 13 km tour today was, I …

That was real hate love today 😄 the Dimbacher Buntsandstein Höhenweg is really beautiful 💚, but the ascents and descents.... So well 😅 and to be used with caution in this weather
