About Dieter 🦉

      P: at the Abusina Castle
Refreshments: at the ferry or in Bad Gögging
Paths: overgrown with grass, gravel and asphalt, everything is there.
Almost exclusively in the sun, therefore not recommended on hot days.
Outside of the places only 2 resting places, but they were not inviting.
Apart from the fort, there is no great change. More of a tour for groups where the conversation is more of a priority.

P: for drivers, there is a large car park 3 minutes' walk from the old town
Cycle paths: partly asphalted or firmly gravel. Definitely good to drive.
Refreshments: whether inn, café or ice cream parlor, everything is sufficiently available
      Location itself: see pictures
At Kuchelbauer's Hundertwasserturm, there was too much going on for me because of Corona. Therefore no tower ascent.

P: good option in Riedenburg, free of charge
Stopping off: in Prunn and up at the Schloss or Burg Prunn. Sometimes like that, sometimes like that 🤔
Resting places (table and benches) in Einthal an der Altmühl, entrance to Prunn at the fire brigade or a few hundred meters further. And about 2.8 or 2 km before Riedenburg.
Paths: Riedenburg to Einthal, everything in the forest, hardly any views except for the lookout rock.
The way back is varied and sunnier with beautiful views. From Schloss Prunn you have a beautiful view of the Altmühl and the valley.
Note: A picture is labeled incorrectly, it is also the Altmühl and not the channel 😬
In very hot weather I would shoot the tour, then at lunchtime you are in the shady forest.

Parking: Festwiese in Neustadt, approx. 800 m from the train station
Special feature: By train from Neustadt to Bad Dürkheim
Refreshments: Thomas Waldweinstube - open on weekends and on Wednesdays
Waldgaststätte Pfalzblick - open Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays (currently closed until 9/11/21)
A little off the route, on the Wachtenburg, unclear opening times
Resting possibilities: many and well distributed, see pictures
Paths: almost exclusively wide farm roads in the vineyards, with asphalt or concrete!
Almost exclusively in the sun, therefore well suited in spring or autumn.
Notes: between Gimmeldingen and Neustadt-Haardt it is better to take the route through the Wingert.

      Good parking in Erfweiler.
At the beginning of the tour there is a steep climb. The paths were mostly cold paths that were in good condition despite the heavy rain in the last few days. A short piece of asphalt at the Altdahn castle ruins.
The hike was very varied with viewpoints, ruins and rock formations.
We stopped in Erfweiler after a good 8 km in the inn "Jägerhof". Unfortunately inside because of the drizzle. But the landlords are very specific about the corona rules.
If you want, you can also buy something at the kiosk in the Altdahn castle ruins shortly beforehand and then bypass Erfweiler.

Nice tour through the forest, always in the shade, is ideal in sunny and hot weather. Comfortable to run even today in the humid atmosphere.
The gradients were mostly moderate, but over longer distances. Only the ascent after the Kaltenbrunner Hütte is steeper. But there is a nice resting place at the end point.
The FH Heidenbrunnen is closed until the beginning of August. Refreshments in the Heller and Kaltenbrunner hut.
