Already known since the early Bronze Age, cigarettes, coffee, and rum were smuggled between Bavaria and Tyrol here after the Second World War. Another highlight is the spectacular gorge.

A beautiful hike from Ettenhausen on the smugglers' path to the suspension bridges in the Entenlochklamm gorge near Maria Klobenstein. The circular route is easy to walk with a little surefootedness and is a great experience for nature lovers, a recommendation. 👍🧡👍

A nice little holiday farewell group😍.
The Entenlochklamm was really overcrowded today 🙈, but it's also simply interesting there and the foggy atmosphere was so good today. The salamanders that we hoped to see there also liked it. Last year 23, in rainy weather, today only 3, there were just too many people out and about.
The suspension bridges over …

The tour in brief:

>Parked the car at the free (!) "Kaiserwinkl Event Center" parking lot in Kössen and took the bus to Ettenhausen (dogs must be muzzled).

>Walked directly from the bus stop onto the Schmugglerweg (Smugglers' Trail).

>Magnificent view of the surrounding mountains.

>The trail initially leads along a forest road.

The pace adapted to the accompaniment and inconspicuously pushed 16km. From the Entenlochklamm along the smugglers' route D/A. Nice way, unfortunately not a circular route.

Today we took the bus from Oberwössen via Marquartstein to Ettenhausen.
From there we hiked along the smugglers' trail along the Tiroler Achen over the German/Austrian border, the Entenlochklamm, Klobenstein and Teufelsstiege to Kössen.
From there by bus via Reit im Winkel back to Oberwössen.

I definitely recommend this tour.
It would have been even more beautiful in bright sunshine.
