This short hike through the Tuscan countryside starts in Greve in Chianti with its large triangular central piazza and monument to Giovanni de Verrazzano (b. 1485) who discovered the bay where New York was founded.
Montefiorrale, just a mile or so away is a tiny medieval hilltop village.
