Kreuzenstein Castle rises impressively above Leobendorf on a hill in the Rohrwald forest. The location was strategically important due to its elevated position, at 266 m above sea level and approximately 100 m above the Danube. The castle was reconstructed in the 19th century on the ruins of an earlier castle and houses a large collection of historical weapons, furniture, and works of art.

Today, it is perfect for panoramic views of the region and is a popular tourist attraction with a medieval flair. A very beautiful sight and also a worthwhile destination for a bike ride.
