Incredible view of the Danube. Recommended at any time of the year. And if you look closely, you can also see the airport tower.

The cycle path on the Marchfeld-Schutzdamm is the ideal eastbound exit from Vienna for all racing cyclists. The Danube to your right and the Lobau National Park to your left, you can pedal here without having to worry about the traffic.

At this point, the Danube Cycle Path turns off the dam into the national park. It offers you a beautiful view of the meadow landscape. Here you can also observe a variety of birds.

Danube Cycle Path newly paved

Highlight • Cycleway

Very little going on the new paths and very easy to drive, even with a racing bike.

As of the beginning of May 2020: only a small section of the road had not yet been paved, but even that was easy to drive on with a racing bike.

July 5, 2024,Vienna 2024 Day 27 - Along the Danube
The route along the river from Vienna to Bratislava sounds amazing. Unfortunately it was extremely dull and boredom can set in. Due to the heat, we decided to head back before getting to Bratislava.
