Narrow and steep path towards Kramerspitz. Not easy to go, especially in winter, and only recommended with Grödeln.

Kramerspitz Summit

Highlight • Summit

The ascent via St. Martin and descent via the Stepbergalm becomes a great round trip on the Kramer. Again and again great views of the Zugspitze massif. Demanding path due to the 1200 m ascent and descent. Sturdy shoes and surefootedness are essential. Bergheil!

Stepbergalm

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Cozy Alm with homemade dishes and good buttermilk. The descent is still a long way, it is worth taking a break here. From the Alm you can see the Kramerspitz, the Hohe Ziegspitz and the Hirschbichl.

Yellow Gewänd Trail

We used this path for the descent from Kramer via the Stepbergalm. Great trail, lots of hairpin bends, but no difficulty. The waterfall on the way is a great photo opportunity.

A wonderful mountain tour😊!
The starting point was the "Bayernhalle".
If you feel like it, you can take the "Königstand" with you!
From the summit descent to the "Stepbergalm" via the "Gelbes Gwänd" path and then back to the starting point.
It was a long tour, but very varied with many beautiful viewpoints!
Have fun investigating 🤗

Very difficult ascent and descent without any major highlights, but with very few other people. There are no traffic jams or crowds, but also no gondola to take you up or down. At the top you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the Zugspitze and the Eibsee.
A short stop at the Stepbergalm is well worth it. The food …

Shortly before the end of the vacation,
I went up to the Kramer peak at 1985m 😎 at 25 degrees.
The ascent to the Steppbergalm went so far without any problems, but the following ascent to the summit was very steep with a lot of scree, climbing and steel ropes.
But every effort was worth it, as the view was …

Very worthwhile circular hike above Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Very nice views of the Wetterstein Mountains, and further up there are also views to the north.
It was also nice that the Stepbergalm was still open (this year until October 15th, 2023!)

Kramerspitze from the Grainau campsite. Highly Recommended. Take enough to drink with you, because there is only the possibility to refuel at the Stepbergalm on the way back.

A nice long hike on Garmisch's "local mountain" with fantastic views. Take enough to drink with you! (Stepbergalm only opens at 10 a.m.; Almwirtschaft St. Martin is closed on Tuesdays!)
