According to legend, Treskavica has 365 springs, including the springs of the five major rivers Željeznica, Bistrica, Ljuta, Bijela and Rakitnica. Nature has endowed this mountain with a large number of lakes. Most of the lakes cannot be reached by car, which protects them from human activity. The most famous Treskavica lakes are Veliko, Bijelo, Crno, Platno and Malo jezero, which are the most pronounced traces of the Ice Age on this mountain. The origin of its name is pretty clear - during the seismic season it is constantly shaken by minor earthquakes.

Beautiful lake, suitable for swimming. Next to the lake a mountain club Treskavicka Jezera built a bivouac, that is so good equipped that looks more like a mountain hut. There are mattresses, blankets, stove, dishes, bag of Bosnian coffee, guitar,etc. I would still recommend to bring a sleeping bag and a backpacking stove. And please always collect some fallen woods from forest and leave it in bivouac for next person. And leave the bivouac clean.
