Trier Main Market

Highlight • Historical Site

Noteworthy, well-preserved house facades of different architectural styles with a market cross and St. Peter's fountain on the spacious square. On market days, there is a busy hustle and bustle here in the pleasantly traffic-calmed zone.

July 30, 2025,Moselradweg von Longuich nach Trier ☀️🚴‍♀️🚴👍
In the footsteps of the Romans!
A beautiful bike ride along the Moselle to Trier!
A discovery tour through the imposing Porta Nigra to Trier Cathedral, through the old town to the palace gardens, and past the ruins of the Roman Imperial Baths!
👍🍀☀️😁

Since I already know the Moselle and didn't want to cycle back completely, I only cycled the stage to Schweich and continued there with the Rtg train. Koblenz. The route was unspectacular, partly through industrial areas.
In Koblenz, I explored the city all over the place and stayed overnight on the Rhine to Kaub.

Very nice round 🚴 ♂️🚴 ♂️ with friends. Past vineyards along the Moselle in glorious 🌞🌞🌞 sunshine.
The cycle paths are very well signposted.

Not exceptional, too many inhabited areas and industries, the road surface is excellent and well marked

Garmin has once again displayed unrealistic altitude readings, this time only 600m; previously it was 1700m, interestingly always at Dietz Bakery...

Up the river in the direction of Schweich along the Moselle it is wonderful to drive, down the river there is unfortunately a lot of residential and industrial area. Access to the bridge in Schweich is behind the campsite, Komoot wrote to me there, so a bit of "sightseeing" between mobile homes, camping chairs and charcoal grills 😂

October 5, 2022,2022-10-05 Ausflug Trier
Trier was on the agenda today. The paths were well signposted and almost entirely paved. Started around noon today, the sun was still a little long in coming. It finally got through in Trier and I was able to drive in a short-sleeved shirt. Almost all important (Roman) highlights were in the program.
