A real nature experience awaits visitors to the Ems floodplain in Emsdetten: Since 1998, large parts of the Ems floodplain have been designated as a contiguous nature reserve of around 4000 hectares, making them one of the largest nature reserves in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The hike led along the floodplain meadows of the Ems.
I saw less of the Ems than I had hoped, though.
Some sections through the fields and forest, X-path, were almost impassable.
Some sections in the forest were beautiful, many narrow paths that were very beautiful.
