The Lluc molí is a mill built in the 15th century. In 2011 it was restored to be used again as a traditional flour mill and sawmill.

Since there are many hiking opportunities e.g. this komoot.de/tour/163156627/embed? there are also many different ways to see the monastery from a distance. The sight is always impressive. What I liked best was the view from the "Sunday tour" around the Puig Roig massif.

Son Amer Refuge

Highlight • Mountain Hut

This refuge on the Pedra en Sec GR 221 route is located on the Son Amer estate, with an area of 103 ha, located on top of a hill from which you can visually dominate the entire Lluc valley, in the Tramuntana mountains.

Thanks to its location, it can serve as a starting point or arrival point for excursions of great interest, such as the old path of Lluc, the ascent to Puig Tomir through Coll Pelat, the ascent to Sa Mola and Puig d'en Galileu, the old road to Pollença and, in short, all those whose center is the monastery of Lluc, which can be reached from Son Amer along a mule track. You can also take excursions through the public estates of Binifaldó, Menut and Ses Figueroles.

Sa Linea Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

At Coll de sa Linea there is a prominent stone signpost that shows you the way to the summit of Puig Massanella. Here you turn right and you start your steep ascent to the Puig de Massanella.

Puig de Massanella (1,364 m)

Highlight • Summit

At 1,364 meters high, the Puig de Massanella is the second highest peak in the Tramuntana mountains. Since the peak of Puig Mayor is a restricted military area, Massanella is also the highest publicly accessible point on the island. When the weather is good, from up here you have an absolutely spectacular view over the peaks and valleys of the mountains, over the extensive plain with its cities and the south, north and west coast.

A magnificent view, full of goats but on the other hand there is a toll at the entrance to the Rando and we were charged € 15 when we were three adults

Spectacular view

Highlight • Viewpoint

Descending from the Puig de Massanella, you will have spectacular views of the plains of Mallorca and the Tramuntana mountains. Your gaze sweeps easily from Palma to the Bay of Alcudia and the Victoria Peninsula.

I didn't recognize the oaks, but oh well… it's still a pleasant shady spot.

September 15, 2024,Mallorca Wandern: Aufstieg zum Puig de Massanella (1365m)
Hiking on our lieblingsinsel.net

My tour today is definitely one of the most beautiful but most strenuous hikes.

The starting point is the Col de sa Batalla near Lluc

Then the hiking trail goes past a toll station. Here you have to pay 6 euros per person. 😀

Today we climbed Mallorca's second-highest mountain – the highest is a military restricted area and impassable.
The initial climb was fortunately shaded by a holm oak forest. But afterward, there was still plenty of ☀️ to go around 😅. And
Elevation gain + ☀️ = 🥵.

Very nice but strenuous tour. Lots of gravel, rubble and large stones and rocks on the paths.
Finding the way in the upper part is difficult, usually only with cairns. The travel times of under 5 hours given in some hiking guides seemed very optimistic to us. It took us over 6 hours with smaller breaks. The path in the …

Beautiful tour of the highest panoramic mountain in Mallorca. The snowstorm with more than 1.5 meters of snow left its mark here as well. Not all routes are walkable but the way we did it was OK.

Only recommended with hard hiking boots/trail shoes. Wearing sports shoes/jogging shoes or similar is absolutely not recommended.
Lots of sharp rocks...see photos...
Good sense of direction and offline map strongly recommended. You constantly get ahead of yourself.

Hints:
1. Private property, therefore 6 euros per person must be paid at the entrance.
2nd alternative loop we took after the Pla de sa Neu is not recommended on the way back. No path, only to be overcome by climbing.
3. Slope partly 35%.
4. Difficulty according to Rother and Komoot: Difficult mountain tour. Recommendation read the tour description …
