We took advantage of the great weather (but much too warm for the end of February) today to pay a visit to Eichsfeld. First we headed north from Geismar, past Gleichenstein Castle with a challenging 12% gradient, and then enjoyed a long, rapid descent to Wachstedt. We were supposed to continue straight to Dingelstädt - but the sign "Unstrutquelle" required …

The section of the former Berlin-Wetzlar-Metz-Strasbourg (Alsace-Lorraine) railway line offers a very special experience of nature.
The cycle path from Dingelstädt to Frieda is slightly sloping and can be used with all types of cycle, as it is paved throughout and is also very well signposted.
