The Oleftalsperre protects the surrounding communities from flooding and is used to obtain drinking water. It is very impressive to cycle along this huge reservoir.

September 20, 2024,🚴🏻‍♀️🚴‍♂️ in der Nordeifel grenzüberschreitende 🇩🇪 Runde 🇧🇪
This tour initially took us along the Oleftalsperre and then through a lot of nature and forest on both sides of the German-Belgian border to the "Weißer Stein" observation tower, the highest point in the Rhineland at 689 m.
We went back along the Prether Bach with a stop at the Oberprether Mühle. It was a wonderful 🌞 tour 🍀🙋🚴‍♀️🚴🏻‍♂️🙋🏼‍♂️
