The Karol Wojtyla urban park is located in the city center, near the railway station and the main arteries of the city. It is bordered on the entire north side by via Lorenzo Scillitani and on the opposite side by via Celestino Galliani; the main entrance opens onto Piazza Cavour. Rectangular in shape, the garden extends for about 1000 meters in length and over 50 meters in width; it is entirely flat with the exception of the easternmost area, known as Boschetto, which is accessed by means of ramps that cover 5-6 meters in altitude. Entirely fenced, it is accessible during the opening hours to the public. It is owned by the Municipality of Foggia and protected by archaeological constraints pursuant to law 1089 / '39 (referring to the neighboring area of the former racecourse, occupied by a Neolithic entrenched village).
