In addition to the good spritzer, there is also a nice hand cheese with music and, of course, who wants coffee and cake.

The knight's stone, which is maintained by the PWV, stands at an old street junction. Five stones were embedded in the slab on the large rock slab.

"In the First Coalition War there were repeated fighting at the Steigerkopf in 1794 and 1795. [...] After the death of the Prussian General von Pfau on July 13, 1794, the Prussian troops retreated. The battalion from Schladen withdrew under Major von Borck led from the Schänzel over the Benderplatz and Kohlplatz into the Rhine plain. The defeat of the coalition troops on the Schänzel resulted in a retreat to and across the Rhine. As a consequence, Prussia withdrew from the war after an armistice with France. "

This information belongs to the Ritterstein No. 69 ("Kohlplatz - Retreat battle of the Battl. Von Schladen under Major von Borck on July 13, 1794") and also applies here.

The names "v. Schladen" and "v. Borck" can be read on these rocks as well as "Königl. Preuss. Inf.".

July 4, 2021,Edenkobener Rundweg 5 in der Südpfalz - Wandern mit den Kindern wie auf Wolke 7
Admittedly, the hike with the name Edenkobener Rundweg 5 is not exactly meaningful and does not exactly blow your mind. But we didn't let that put us off and experience a really nice hike deep in the Palatinate Forest near Edenkoben. We climb the Himmelsleiter, hike to Lolosruhe and enjoy a wonderful picnic at the Schänzelturm with an excellent view …

Today's Christmas round was planned as a get-to-know-you round for Curly and Enzo. With a stop.
But after about half the route I discovered a dog in the dark corner on the bench at Benderplatz in the Konrad Reges Hut. The dog looked, but didn't react to us at all. Not even to Curly who said hello.
But after speaking …

Nice hike. At the beginning a longer ascent to Lolosruh. There's a lot to see. A break at the Schäzelturm is recommended. You should check the opening hours of the huts.

Today the first real hike with Enzo. The meeting with Curly went well and we even reunited a lost dog with his owners 😍.

Today's hike started at the Hüttenbrunnen spring and went up to the Triefenbach spring. From there, we continued uphill via Benderplatz to the Schänzelturm tower on the Steigerkopf.

Afterwards, we descended slightly to Lolosruhe and then took the Engelsleiter (Angel's Ladder) back down to the Hüttenbrunnen spring (with a mandatory stop for refreshments 🍟🍺).

The starting point is the car park at the Hüttenbrunnen (Edenkobener Hütte) huettenbrunnen.net

After a long winter break plus a private break, finally back on the slopes with the certainty:

Fitness = ZERO🤪🤪, which is why the tour today is a bit short, but with a few climbs!

Showing Translation

Very nice hike on forest paths. The hut has a good price-performance ratio. The last section of the hike is a bit strenuous.
