Trainsjoch summit

Highlight • Summit

The Trainsjoch (1708 m above sea level / 1707 m above sea level) is a mountain in the Mangfallgebirge on the border between Bavaria and Tyrol, about 10 km south of Bayrischzell east of the origin pass.

The mountain can easily be climbed from the source pass. Some surefootedness is required when climbing over the western ridge, easier is the rise from the south. On the way is the Obere Trockenbachalm (Mariandlalm), which is farmed all year. The mountain is also gladly climbed in winter.

On the summit there is a cross, the panorama is extensive and extends in the south to the firn peaks of the central Alps chain with Grossglockner, Großvenediger and Zillertal Alps. Particularly noteworthy is the view over the striking Kaisergebirge. (Source: Wikipedia)

... and next time the MTB's do not stay at the Mariandl-Alm ... Hammer-Trail !!! :-) :-) :-)

Today, a detour to Tyrol and to the Trainsjoch (1707 m).
From the Ursprungsattel to the alpine pasture, I first took the road; I personally find it more pleasant than going down, just to avoid sliding. From there, I took the Wiesensteig to the west ridge, and from there, along the border between Bavaria and Tyrol, up to the summit, …

In and of itself not a difficult tour, recommended in autumn or spring, fitness and sure-footedness are required. Refreshments at the Mariandlalm, closed on Mondays until the end of October, more closed days in winter.
Attention when descending directly at the summit of the Trainsjoch: the way back to the Mariandlalm is not signposted, all other ways are signposted above.

Off to the Trainsjoch - snow ❄️🌞🥾 - nice people

First time on the Trainsjoch - not without a climb - the snow was through the pines.

Lots of 🌞
Mariandloim is still closed until December 26th.

So the sun terrace was ours alone...

This is a beautiful summit tour. Since most of the time you walk across alpine pastures, this is more of a tour for cooler summer days or sunny spring or autumn days. Surefootedness is required on the last KM to the summit. Very small climbing pieces are included 😉😊

Ascent 2:20, summit break 1:00, descent 2:00.

A demanding tour. The ascent via the Fritz-Koeber-Steig requires some scrambling, albeit short sections, but not to be underestimated.

Turning back becomes difficult, and climbing down the sections would be tricky. [Disclaimer: In June, I met a gentleman who was descending the trail.]

The ascent from the Mariandlalm up to the left is a very beautiful path, partly sunny and shady through the forest. The descent is mostly sunny. Is the tour recommended in dry conditions? Because you have to scramble towards the end on the ascent and descent

Finally, almost free of snow. An incredibly beautiful hike, always the best views, beautiful path. You have to hold on in two places, but it's easy to manage without a rope.
I probably could have fed my first marmot so close. 🤗

The time in motion is about 1 hour too little.
Ascent to the summit 8:30 - 11:30 (in motion 2.30 hrs.) Descent via the Fritz - Koeber-Steig to the Mariandlalm 1:15 hrs. The climb is very steep, you often need all fours. Lots of rubble and roots, you have to be careful where you climb. alpine. From the Mariandlalm to …
