Piazza Libertà / Freedom Square
Formerly “Piazza dei Signori”, it is the flagship for Sunday walks. It was obtained by filling the moat that surrounded the second wall of Bassano and was initially named Piazza San Giovanni, after the name of the church built there in 1308. From 1867 it was consecrated to Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy. During the Second World War it was called Piazza del Popolo, then Piazza Libertà.
