Lahn Cycle Path Along the Lahn River

Highlight • Cycleway

Cycling here in the Lahn Valley when the weather is nice is always a great pleasure! The fact that there is no road in this section of the valley is an invaluable advantage!

Löhnberg Suspension Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The floor of the bridge is made of gratings, so it is not suitable for people with a fear of heights. However, the view of the Lahn valley is wonderful.

Beautiful and easy circuit. Weilburg, the old town and the restored castle (Nassau ancestral home) including the gardens are absolutely worth seeing. Entry to the castle is only possible with a guided tour (7 euros/person). However, the tour is very informative and worth the money. In the castle park (Orangery) there is a café with a wonderful outdoor terrace directly …

Today we drive to Weilburg. The weather is very mixed. Again and again it rains but it is warm. Even today, the bike path runs along the road again and again, which we don't like so much. We enjoy the sections away from the road all the more. We make a detour to Braunfels. A beautiful little town with a …

We started the seventh stage from Wetzlar to Weilburg in light rain. Then a heavy shower in Wetzlar. When bypassing Burgsolms, we must have missed the signage and took a long detour. From Löhnberg the route is really nice again and on the Lahn.

Despite the forecast of rain, we stayed dry. Highlights were Braunfels Castle and Weilburg Castle. We also visited a bicycle repair shop on the outskirts of Weilburg because of a gearshift defect. This was quickly fixed.
