Very nice single trail with steep ascent and descent at the beginning / end through beech forest above the Nammer limestone cliffs.
There are various views to the south over the A2 towards Veltheim and Eisbergen.

It's worth continuing this "tip" from the rest hut with a view. From here, you have a fantastic view of the quarry, the hut, and the steep cliff below.

August 6, 2022,Bückeburg - Porta Westfalica
Today comes a hike from Bückeburg to Porta Westfalica over the small mountains and Nammer cliffs. It's a preparation for my climbing series, which continues next week (On top of Europe)

I took the train to Bückeburg and from there I walked to Kleinenbremen. Then I walked in the forest and reached the ridge path.

Today we're going for a short walk near Bückeburg. I did the route years ago, but I think it's beautiful then and I didn't want to stay at home in this weather.

We took the train from Hanover to Bückeburg and then continued on foot to the castle. There we took some pictures and crossed the castle park.

The tour description is available as always on my blog: michael.herbst-haste.de/auf-dem-sigwardsweg-von-bueckeburg-nach-porta

Today the 2nd stage of the Sigwardsweg 20 km. Parked on the parking lot by the community center in Hausberge, we went 200 meters down to the starting point at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hausberge. Past St. Walburga, we went steeply up the mountain to the Portakanzel. After the frosty night and in the morning sunshine, a wonderful view. …

A nice tour, at least until Kleinenbremen. From there we actually wanted to take the bus to Bückeburg, but we were way too early. So on foot. But since it was close to the train station for the train, we wanted to wait for the bus in Bückeburg. Only then the bus didn't come; at least not nearly in time …
