Pompeii was an ancient city, buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 but largely preserved under volcanic ash. Pompeii has been on our wish list for a long time. We are very impressed with the city. We had a great guide and the tour could have been longer because everything is so interesting.
