1st of October Bridge (Sant Pere Pescador)

Highlight • Bridge

The bridge crosses the Fluvià river which is a prominent point in Sant Pere Pescador. This bridge not only connects the banks of the river, but also serves as a kind of portal to Sant Pere Pescador. The area around the bridge and river is fairly flat, making it ideal for bike rides or walks. Weekly markets and fairs are held on the esplanade below.

The Fluvià river, on its last journey to the sea, crosses Sant Pere Pescador, and from the town, there is a walk that leaves the bridge and runs parallel to the river on the right bank, facing the sea. This walk is easy and flat, which makes it perfect to do with a group, especially as an afternoon plan when the heat is not so intense.

During this tour, you will meet other cyclists, fishermen, and possibly people practicing water sports such as kayaking, which adds a dynamic touch to the serene landscape of the Fluvià River. In addition, the area is part of the Aiguamolls Natural Park, which guarantees a natural and peaceful experience.

Riuet Beach Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Cross the bridge and you will have access to the little path full of sand that takes you to the La Ballena Alegre campsite. Do not try to go along the campsite's beach. In winter the gate is closed and the sand is so thick that you have to push the bike to cross it. I recommend going along the path on the left that leads to the road Vella d'Empuries.
As for the beach before crossing it, it is a quiet beach, without crowds of people, with fine sand and clean water. It is shallow, ideal for little ones, for bathing and playing with the sand.
Dogs are accepted, and there is a nudist area.
There is enough space to play paddle tennis, beach volleyball or soccer
Higher up is the windsurfing and kitesurfing area.
You have two beach bars if you feel like it.
Fact: arriving you can park from the hotel to the beach, pay attention to the signs because otherwise they will fine you

Church of Sant Martí d'Empúries

Highlight • Religious Site

Sant Martí d'Empúries is a beautiful medieval town where a good part of the medieval wall is still preserved, as well as the church of Sant Martí, built in 1538. Next to the remains of the castle is the Casa Forestal, style modernist, which contrasts with medieval architecture.

Roca Galera Singletrack Trails

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

There are many beautiful trails in this region, one of them. Unfortunately, there are also many thorns, so definitely choose a tire with high puncture protection and of course take replacement hose and repair kit.

Historic Streets of Ullà

Highlight • Historical Site

Municipality of the Baix Empordà region. The Ter river runs through its lands and with a mountainous sector along the Montgrí Massif.
It belonged to the counts of Ampurias and later passed to the bishopric of Gerona. In its streets it preserves old Gothic and Renaissance buildings from its medieval past. The church of Santa María is neoclassical and is built on another earlier Romanesque building from 1362, with the dedication of San Andrés, of which a small part of the apse is preserved. Inside you can worship the polychrome carving of the Virgen de la Fossa, Romanesque from the ancient monastery of Santa Maria de Ullà. Near here we find the Hermitage of Santa Caterina, in the Montgrí massif. It is in Torroella de Montgrí.

Santa Maria Monastery

Highlight • Religious Site

The Augustinian canonical church of Santa Maria d'Ullà was founded in 1121 by Pere Vidal near the bank of the Ter, south of the current town of the same name. At that time the place was exposed to piracy due to its proximity to the sea. In fact, in 1178 it was looted in an attack by pirates who killed some canons and took others as slaves. Furthermore, the place was exposed to the floods of the Ter and at the end of that century the house had been covered in sand.

A new church was then built on top of the previous one, which was consecrated in 1182, while its possessions were confirmed, especially nearby parish churches. The canonical church was secularized in 1592 and continued its activity as a regular collegiate church. In 1804 the canons moved to the new church located on an elevated place in the center of the town, the current parish church, which preserves a Romanesque image known as Virgen de la Fossa. Some remains of the old superimposed churches are preserved to the south of the town, although they are not visible.
