Municipality of the Baix Empordà region. The Ter river runs through its lands and with a mountainous sector along the Montgrí Massif.
It belonged to the counts of Ampurias and later passed to the bishopric of Gerona. In its streets it preserves old Gothic and Renaissance buildings from its medieval past. The church of Santa María is neoclassical and is built on another earlier Romanesque building from 1362, with the dedication of San Andrés, of which a small part of the apse is preserved. Inside you can worship the polychrome carving of the Virgen de la Fossa, Romanesque from the ancient monastery of Santa Maria de Ullà. Near here we find the Hermitage of Santa Caterina, in the Montgrí massif. It is in Torroella de Montgrí.

Ullà is a small municipality located in the Baix Empordà region in the province of Girona. This town, originally dedicated to agriculture, has experienced a growth in its number of inhabitants due to its proximity to Torroella de Montgrí. The town extends to the crest of the Ullà mountain, reaching a maximum height of 300 meters.

Ullà has an important historical and archaeological heritage. In the past, it housed a community of Augustinian monks, although today there are few remains of their presence. Furthermore, the parish church of Santa María de Ullà, built at the end of the 18th century and blessed in 1804, is notable for housing the image of the Virgen de la Fossa, a polychrome wooden carving from the 12th century of great value. Another point of archaeological interest is the Cau del Duc site, a cave in the Ullà mountain that offers a magnificent view of the Ter plain.

As for activities, Ullà offers nearby routes such as the Montgrí Castle and the route through the stone towns of Girona. There are also options for horse riding, guided tours of historical and cultural sites, and enjoying local cuisine at several nearby restaurants.
