Seven Arched Bridge

The seven arched bridge was commissioned by Lord Leverhulme to mimic a bridge he'd seen in Africa. It gives access to the summer houses and terraced gardens above the main track.
You can walk across and under the bridge while exploring the gardens.

Two Lads' Cairn

Built on what is thought to be an Anglo-Saxon site, "Two Lads" was constructed over a period of nearly two years by Robin Smith. The two cairns commemorate the tragic death of two young men who, legend has it, perished on the site many hundreds of years ago.The spot, which provides a panoramic view of Bolton, Rivington Pike and the transmitter mast is used by ramblers and runners as a navigation point and is a favourite resting spot for visitors who pass nearby.

Scotsman's Stump Memorial

Highlight • Historical Site

On the summit of Winter Hill, close to the transmitter masts and buildings, stands a ten foot tall iron memorial known as Scotsman’s Stump. On it is a small plaque that states: “In memory of George Henderson, Traveller, native of Annan Dumfriesshire who was barbarously murdered on Rivington Moor at noonday November 9th 1838, in the 20th year of his age.”

Pigeon Tower (Dovecote Tower), Rivington

Highlight • Historical Site

The Pigeon Tower (AKA The Dovecote Tower) was built in 1910 by Lord Leverhulme as part of the Rivington Estate. The lower two floors where home to ornamental and rare species of pigeon and dove with the third floor kept as a sitting room with amazing views. Lady Leverholme used to enjoy sewing here.
