near the headwaters of the Thredbo River and overlooking the Alpine Way. This is a favourite meeting point for hikers and transport as there is adequate parking and a pleasant picnic area

The flowers are tiny but do try to stay on the track or metal flyovers...the ground can be boggy and easily wreck by an ill considered tramping

This is the only serious climb on the route. Used by family daytrippers, it is reasonably well made and easy to follow. It has magnificent views back to Eagles Nest Restaurant and the Thredbo Valley beyond
