The effort was worth it. There is a peaceful silence up here, an ideal place to rest and enjoy. From here you can continue up to the Rubi summit 🏔

View of the Lower Gaisalpsee

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Lower Gaisalpsee is a high mountain lake at an altitude of 1,508 meters in the Allgäu Alps, northeast below the Rubihorn. The three and a half hectare lake drains through the Gaisalpbach to the Iller.
The lake is on the hiking trail from Reichenbach to Nebelhorn over the Gaisalpe, Lower and Upper Gaisalpsee, Gaisfußsattel, Großer Gund and Edmund-Probst-Haus.

Rubihorn Summit

Highlight • Summit

The hike to the Rubihorn is well signposted and marked, but requires surefootedness and a head for heights, especially from Gaisalpsee, where the trail becomes increasingly steep and exposed in places. Some sections are secured with wire ropes.

August 16, 2022,Allgäu: Rubihorn (1957 m), Gaisalphorn (1953 m), Gaisfuß (1980 m), Gaisalpseen
According to the Rother hiking guide, a "top" tour was on the agenda today. However, we improved Roth's suggestion significantly by including two more peaks (Gaisalphorn at 1953 m, Gaisfuss at 1980 m) and a ridge path, so that this tour mutated into a summit circular route.

Today we started directly from the apartment, along the Gaisalpbach, still nice in the fog up to the lower Gaisalpsee, from there up to the Rubihorn and over the Rubihornsteig, after a refreshment on the Gaisalpe we went back, all in all very worthwhile, with the best autumn weather 👍🏼

From Reichenbach we are first to the upper Gaisalpsee. Then ascent to the Rubihorn. Instead of descending again, from there over the narrow ridge to the Gaisalphorn. An absolutely breathtaking section of the trail. Some climbing just before the summit, so you should be sure-footed and not afraid of heights. Then another tour extension to the foot of the Gais. …

Beautiful tour with a great view you should already have experience on the mountain
Please put on mountain shoes because there are always people with low shoes on the ⛰️

This beautiful round is highly recommended. A little climbing experience can't hurt, but it doesn't have to be. Alternatively, start the round at 8 a.m. and take the foghorn with you 👍

From the Rubihorn over the Gaißalpsattel to the Gaißalphorn only those who are absolutely sure-footed...

Great tour. A head for heights and sure-footedness is a must. Not suitable for dogs.
