The Genkel Dam is branched with many small water arms. They were created by the side valleys.

If you don't just love asphalt and if you also like to drive on non-asphalted paths, you can only suggest going around the reservoir (approx. 10km). Again and again there are beautiful views of the lake.

A beautiful, easy-to-walk circular path leads around the dam. Almost 10 km long. The shore is very rugged. When you think you're almost there, it takes one more turn...

The peninsula is always a beautiful place. We often swim over and rest there before swimming back.

A beautiful circular hiking trail. Unfortunately, the forest has suffered greatly from the drought.

August 2, 2021,Genkeltalsperre – Aggertalsperre - Runde von Redlendorf
We had an appointment in Dortmund today and so it was obvious that on the way back we would do a lap somewhere where we normally don't just get there.

So we decided on the two dams on the A45.
The tour was found quickly, because the pictures convinced us.
Arrived at the starting point, it took less than 700 …

My weather app showed the sun yesterday ☀️, but then today it was cloudy, cold weather from the Lantenbach hiking car park around the Genkeltalsperre. On the forest floor, the path led us around it in wonderful peace.

September 2024 - Today we went on a nice walk around the Genkeltalsperre with the family, after a long time - this time we started from the Inselweg car park, as the car park at the Genkeltalsperre was closed due to an event. You only have to cross Meinerzhagenerstrasse once and you are already on the circular route. The paths …

Beautiful 9.7 km circular walk around the Genkeltal dam. Very easy to walk except for a small section of the path with sharp stones. Not much up and down - but you get beautiful views. It is often very quiet because it is not crowded.

Very nice hike, quiet location, paved hiking trails. The dam itself is not accessible.
Great tour.

11 participants, including 4 guests, hiked around the Genkel Dam. Actually, it was only planned as an embarrassment offer. But with beautiful autumn or rather late summer weather, it was simply pure enjoyment. A look at the glittering surface of the water or the colorfully shimmering leaves on the way repeatedly caused enthusiastic exclamations. A hike that can be recommended …
