Jasmund National Park

Highlight • Forest

I recommend sturdy shoes. It goes partly over hill and dale.

Sassnitz Pebble Beach

Highlight • Beach

On the riverside path you can marvel at the great chalk cliffs. However, caution is advised in storms or bad weather, as the rocks of the steep coast can break off. So always pay attention to any warning signs.

Chalk Cliffs of Jasmund National Park

Highlight • Natural Monument

The chalk coast stretches from the outskirts of Wedding in Sassnitz to Lohme. The highlight shown here is just behind the entrance to the national park and gives you a first view of the chalk coast: the Gakower Ufer and the Wissower Ufer. Not far from here, at the Piratenschlucht, you can take a staircase to the Hochuferweg. If you want to continue walking down the coast, you should note that the next ascent is only possible at the Kieler Bach.
Along the chalk coast you can often find fossils such as sea urchins, thunderstones, petrified corals and mussels. However, extreme caution is advised, particularly in winter or during storms and heavy rain.

View of Wissower Ufer

Highlight • Viewpoint

From this vantage point, you have a magnificent view of the Wissower Ufer. The lookout point is located just beyond the Piratenschlucht (Pirate Gorge) and is easily accessible. There's also a bench to rest on. Highly recommended, especially at sunrise: a special atmosphere and mood.

Beautiful nature guaranteed. The forest is not managed, but left to nature. Please stay on the paths so as not to disturb nature and animals.

Chalk Cliffs of Jasmund National Park

Highlight • Natural Monument

The famous chalk cliffs on Rügen stretch for 15 kilometers
on the Jasmund peninsula – from Sassnitz to the village of Glowe.

The sight alone is magnificent; after all, you don't see such imposing white cliffs,
rising 120 meters high, every day. But their origin is equally astonishing: the cliffs were formed more than 50 million years ago from calcareous, fossil-like remains of various small animals that were deposited in the sea and solidified into rock over time.

Together with sand, clay, and other rocks, this is how the chalk cliffs we know today were formed.

Wissower Klinken Chalk Cliffs

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Wissower Klinken are impressive chalk cliffs on the coast of Rügen, once among the island's most famous natural wonders. Unfortunately, they partially collapsed in 2005 due to a major erosion, but the area around Jasmund National Park still offers stunning views of the coast and the sea.

Today only small round at the chalk cliffs. From the parking lot first around the outside to the Baltic Sea shore. The direct way no longer exists. After a short stretch on the bank, change to Hochuferweg. Turned off at the Wissower cliffs to the foyer. Back through the beech forest

Beautiful tour through the beautiful beech forest, along the high bank path and along the beach
