The suggestive name "Apprezzamm u' Ciucc'" can be attributed to a less suggestive legend. At the beginning of the 20th century the path was the only stretch of the coast that connected Sapri with Maratea, a key route for the exchange of goods transported by donkeys.

Very beautiful coastal path between Sapri and Maratea with tremendous views of the Gulf of Policastro. Sturdy shoes are recommended, as the terrain at the end of the tour is slightly exposed. A stick as a companion is also advantageous, as snakes can occasionally be encountered on the tour.
