Dolský Mill (Grundmühle) Ruins

Highlight • Historical Site

a great forgotten place. Former basic mill with many interesting and romantic building ruins. First documented in 1515 as a mill with three wheels (one wheel drove the saw, two the grinder). Rebuilt in 1727 including bakery. When the water was low, it also served as a malt mill for the Binsdorf Castle Brewery (Bynovec). In 1814 a distillery was added. At the end of the 19th century, the boat trip through the Ferdinandsklamm ended here. During this time a tavern was built. For several years, the customs guard had its seat in this place. After 1945 the mill became deserted. Today it is just a romantic ruin. The Grundmühle is located in the Kamnitztal. In the area there are marked hiking trails to Vysoká Lípa, Kamenická Stráň and Jetřichovice.

Part of a bunker system of the Czech army from 1938, consisting of several bunkers, the so-called Schöberlinie. Because of the shape, these are also called ear bunkers

May 2, 2026,Von Windisch-Kamnitz auf den Basaltkegel des Rosenbergs und zu den Ruinen der Grundmühle
Twice in a row to Bohemian Switzerland, that was more by chance, but also very beautiful. I find the places visited in the tour, such as Ruzova, Hutberg, Grundmühle and Windisch-Kamnitz with its small reserve, particularly beautiful and can visit them again and again.
My Rölke hiking and nature guide, which I already used yesterday, has this route under No. …

Moderately difficult hike on the edge of Bohemian Switzerland from Rosendorf over the Rosenberg to the Ferdinandsklamm. This was a short stretch on a somewhat more challenging path to the Grundmühle, an interesting ruin. From there we continued past a view of the Ferdinandsklamm to the Hutberg, from which you have a very good view of the entire region as …

A resolution for this year is to undertake more hiking tours with a distance of more than 20 km, which should serve as preparation and training for the Alpine traversal in June. 😅 (komoot.de/collection/1176279/-alpentraversale-koenigsee-drei-zinnen)
Last year, after our sporting highlight, running the Malerweg in four tours in January / February was kind of out of breath.

If you are traveling in Saxon Switzerland, you can see it immediately from many views and stones with a view towards Bohemia.
I haven't been to the Rosenberg for a long time and that had to change.
That's why today we went from Rosendorf high up to the long extinct volcanic cone up to a height of 619 meters.
After …

The small bunkers that you can see standing here and there in the forest are part of the old Czech defense system against Germany, Austria and Poland, which was built in the 1930s but was never technically used.
