This beautiful break bench with a view of the Oderteich is totally rustic. A widening of the path especially for the bank 😁.

The circular path is beautiful. You walk over the sand, the wooden walkway and then past the bathing area and there are plenty of opportunities to take a break. It's like a little vacation when you're there.

July 13, 2023,Weg entlang des Abbegrabens – Oderteich Runde von Sankt Andreasberg
With my new job at the deutsche Post I'm a little less energetic after work to be blazing around the harz. However, a nice hike today with Tom and the dogs! Great views, nice trails and a few mtb trails spotted along the way.
Fantastic winter hike through the Harz National Park. I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves 😉

The narrow-gauge railway hoots in the distance, we walk across vast moorlands that release brown water into the streams, and the air smells of summer spruce.

Unmistakably my home.

But also miles of bare mountains. The bark beetle and the drought have done their work.

The Harz Mountains are always beautiful in winter.

A wonderful tour that starts with one of my Harz highlights: the circumnavigation of the Oderteich 🏞😍 At the sun cap we continue on the fairy tale path (really nice, but sure-footedness is required here, we carried our dog in parts). Via the Abbegraben and the Goetheweg you reach the high moor, where two wonderful benches await you. From here …

Particularly attractive is the steep, narrow climb on the Kaiserweg

Winter hike around the Oderteich, along the fairy tale path (Goetheweg) and via the Kaiserweg back to the Oderteich. Even if this is of course a very popular corner and you can't enjoy the winter feeling all by yourself, there are always very quiet phases, especially on the Fairytale Trail and along the Kaiserweg.
It is a bit slippery in …

I've slightly modified the round from the original.

Of course, there was a lot going on in parts, especially around the lake. Very crowded, but beautifully landscaped.

It first went through the moor area, where I had to carry my dog over the boardwalks because it kept getting stuck in the gaps between the boards.
