Today we walked the Alpine Newt Trail. Since we had a child with us, we shortened the route in two places. The tour is highly recommended, as it's very varied.

A great circular hiking trail that leads from the castle through pine forests, to farmland, through villages and deciduous forest. During the week it is completely empty there. The castle is not always open. The falconry offers flight demonstrations at 2.30 p.m. The whole circular route is 4.5 km longer in the west. It was too muggy.

It's great that the stairs at Rabenstein Castle are accessible again - but the castle is still only open on a few weekends.
